The Blast was looking to design and develop a custom solution that would allow them to deliver the most recent celebrity news. We were brought in by our friends at Zeek Interactive to collaborate with The Blast’s Creative Director and to design page templates that would adhere to the company’s brand guidelines.
The main focus was the site’s usability, especially on mobile devices, as they wanted users to not only find and read the latest celebrity news, but for them to be able to submit tips quickly and easily. Our solution involved a couple rounds of wireframes that focused on page layout and user experience. The result yielded a simplified menu system, easy-to-navigate page layouts, and an optimal user experience from mobile up to desktop.
Based upon the wireframes, we designed the page templates needed for launched and collaborated with The Blast’s Creative Director that displayed most of the site’s styles for each element. We then created a UI Style Kit for the team at Zeek Interactive to use during development to help keep all of the styles consistent according to the brand guidelines. The UI Style Kit ensures that as The Blast creates new pages in the future they will be able to focus on content and not have to worry about the design.
