We learned a lot about responsive website design during the first iteration of the Dallas Mavericks website. With that knowledge, we collaborated with our good friends at Pixel Jar and worked on the second version of this custom WordPress theme.
The number of users viewing the website from their mobile devices had jumped significantly, so one of the main goals was to speed up the site across all devices. This meant re-evaluating the styles of the site with more of a focus on mobile usage and then simplifying content wherever possible.
We stripped most of the large background images from the first iteration in favor of using various gray colors to help separate content, which provided not only a faster experience, but a more streamlined navigation system and set of page layouts.
As was our experience during the first iteration, we had a blast working with the Dallas Mavericks on this latest version.
